June is dedicated to raising awareness and prevention of the preventable health problems men face while encouraging men to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease or injury.
One of the common health threats to men is lung cancer. In 2012, the American Cancer Society estimates about 116,470 new diagnoses of lung cancer. As one of the most common cancers in American men, lung cancer can be a serious disease. However, lung cancer can be treated successfully if caught early thanks to advances in cancer care, technology, and treatment protocols based on scientific research of the disease.
