TrueBeam™ STx for Brain Tumors

TrueBeam STx robotic stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) painlessly delivers precise beams of high-dose radiation to brain tumors and lesions, without incisions, hospitalization, or long recovery time. TrueBeam STx SRS is a non-invasive alternative to brain cancer surgery and can be used for brain tumors that are considered inoperable because of their location in the head, for those patients who cannot undergo brain cancer surgery due to their poor medical condition, or who refuse surgery. The TrueBeam STx System also can treat benign, or non-cancerous, tumors and other conditions, such as trigeminal neuralgia and arterial venous malformations (AVMs).

Dr. Diaz

Aidnag Diaz, M.D. received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nuclear engineering from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science and his medical doctorate and his Master of Public Health from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Diaz is a national and international expert on boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) and writes and lectures on such topics as central nervous system toxicities, treatment of primary brain tumors, and head and neck cancer. He is a member of the communications committee of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), Vice Chairman of the Rush University institutional review board, and Chairman of the Cancer Committee at Rush University Cancer Center.
