The physicians, physicists, nursing team, and support staff at Rush Radiosurgery recently celebrated their five year anniversary.
The center commemorated the milestone by hosting an open house in the radiation oncology department of Rush University Medical Center on Wednesday, May 3, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The event had a good turnout with members of the Rush Radiosurgery radiation oncology team, hospital physician partners from neuro surgery, medical oncology and thoracic, and Alliance Oncology leaders in attendance.
Aidnag Diaz, M.D., Radiation Oncologist and Medical Director for Rush Radiosurgery, and Ross Abrams, M.D., Chair of Radiation Oncology, both spoke at the event while musicians from the Caring Arts Foundation, who are onsite each Wednesday to provide music in the department while patients wait for treatment, provided entertainment.
Rush Radiosurgery is a clinical service of Rush University Medical Center and was developed through a joint venture between Rush University Medical Center and US Radiosurgery, now Alliance Oncology. Rush Radiosurgery opened on March 26, 2012 and has treated over 1,000 patients. The center is proud to have been a part of the greater Chicago area for the past five years and looks forward to many more years of serving the patients in the community.
